Lidar has never been so beautiful! This is LIDAR-Lite v3HP, a compact, high performance optical distance measurement sensor from GarminTM. The LIDAR-Lite v3HP is the ideal optical ranging solution for drone, robotic or driverless vehicle applications. Each sensor is housed in a rugged IPX7 enclosure, including all the core features and user configurability of the popular LIDAR-Lite v3.
The v3HP is functionally very similar to the v3, but it can now sample faster at rates greater than 1 kHz (where v3 can only reach 500 Hz). Another improvement is that the v3HP model is more power efficient, with a current consumption rate 40 mA lower than v3 (65 mA, while 105 mA when idle, and 85 mA instead of 130 mA for acquisition).
Each LIDAR-Lite v3HP ranges from 5cm to 40m with emission, 905nm (1.3W), single stripe laser emitter, 8m Radian beam divergence and 12.5mm optical aperture. This version of LIDAR-Lite can still operate at 5VDC (max. 6V) with a power of 1.3W and still has an accuracy of +/- 2.5cm at > 2m. Most importantly, LIDAR-Lite is user configurable, allowing adjustments between accuracy, operating range and measurement time, and can be connected to an additional 200mm cable via I2C or PWM.
